There was a blast of celebration and joy on Sunday 05 September 2021 as local motown enthusiasts visited the The John Kennedy Public House, Meadowcroft, Aylesbury for an afternoon to raise money for the Fremantle Trust initiative, Wishes and Dreams.

With 60’s soul, motown and northern soul playing on vinyl by The Roadrunner Roadshow, Fremantle Trust colleagues and the local community tucked in to hot dogs and chilli, whilst partaking in the Wishes and Dreams raffle for exciting prizes. Each prize was a kind donation from well-known and local companies, including Tesco Broadfields, Asda, Warren James, The Card Factory and family and friends.

The Wishes and Dreams initiative was set up by Sue Faulkner in 2017 to celebrate The Fremantle Trust’s 25th birthday. Family, friends and colleagues send applications for a resident or group of residents to do something special or out of the ordinary, this has included driving around a race track at Silverstone, staying the night in a London hotel and a day trip to Dorset. The initiative was so popular that it stayed in place and the Trust is still receiving applications to this day.

Community and Lifestyle Manager Sue Faulkner commented; ‘The pub is local to Fremantle Trust care home Lewin House so we felt with it’s connections already to the Trust, it was the perfect place to host our community event. We were so happy to be able to raise funds for Wishes and Dreams for our other local Fremantle Trust care homes, including Fremantle Court and Icknield Court.’
