Lent Rise Home resident gets her birthday wish with a tour in a Rolls Royce of her old stomping ground.

The care team at our care home Lent Rise House,  gave Daphne Collins the Hollywood treatment, complete with red carpet and a Rolls Royce, which was kindly provided by JD Prestige Cars. She then went on a nostalgic trip down memory lane with stops at some of the most memorable places in her life.

Daphne’s request for a 95th birthday celebration was fulfilled by Activity Coordinators Debbie Baron and Michelle Dean. Daphne always wanted to visit her home town, so Debbie and Michelle put their heads together and surprised her with this celebration.

Daphne’s tour included a visit to Wembley Hill School where she went as a child, the swimming baths near the high street, the swings at King Edward VII Park on St Johns Road and the place where St Johns Church once stood on Kings Road, where Daphne married her husband.

Michelle and Debbie commented: “We were so happy to be able to give Daphne the day that she deserved on a very special birthday. She shared some wonderful stories with and told us about her and her twin sister both marrying identical twins! She didn’t stop smiling all day and she’s been talking about the occasion ever since.”

Following the tour, Daphne was treated to an afternoon tea, doughnuts, cupcakes and a party with fellow residents and volunteers back at Lent Rise House.
