Sir Aubrey Ward House: Residential & Dementia Care Home in Marlow Facilities

As a specialist residential care home in Marlow, Sir Aubrey Ward House has a variety of high-quality facilities that provide excellent services for older people and those living with dementia, in a modern and comfortable environment.

Comfortable En-suite rooms

Each fully furnished individual room in our care home is bright, spacious, and has been designed with an older person in mind. Every room has an en-suite and is wheelchair accessible. A 24-hour carer call system is provided, along with a  phone and TV points. To help our residents feel at home, we encourage them to bring their own furnishings to add that personal touch.

Modern communal areas

Our spacious and friendly communal areas provide plenty of choice to meet the needs of residents. Our care home is complete with a large reception area for hosting functions and social events, a café, nail bar, dining rooms, lounges, kitchenettes, an activity room and plenty of quiet seating areas. To cater for all accessibility requirements, every floor can be reached by stairs and a lift.

Fresh food daily

Food is an important part of life at Sir Aubrey Ward House and we pride ourselves on the quality of meals we produce. We source local produce from the Marlow area when possible and all of our food is freshly cooked on-site. Our care home offers a wide variety of meals throughout the week and we encourage suggestions from residents when menu planning to ensure we cater to everyone’s dietary needs and palate. Visitors are welcome to join us at mealtimes (for a minimal charge), or can use the kitchenettes just as they would at home.

Enclosed courtyard

The enclosed courtyard garden provides an inviting setting for anyone wishing to do a spot of gardening or simply a little relaxing outdoors. We grow vegetables at our care home such as tomatoes, runner beans and courgettes, as well as strawberries and cucumbers. We also have a flowering central pagoda which adds to the scenic and peaceful atmosphere. Our first floor balconies are a lovely addition to the space and led us to winning the 2016 ‘Best Balcony Display’ award in the annual Fremantle in Bloom competition.

Access to specialist services

We are committed to delivering specialist care and support for older people. We provide a personal key worker and support plan for each individual which is regularly reviewed. We also work in partnership with other local health and social care professionals, including opticians, chiropodists, physiotherapists, district nurses, GPs and dieticians. Religious services are regularly held at the care home.

Four-legged friends

As a nation of animal-lovers, we know that there are a number of positive effects of caring for a pet that can be both rewarding and beneficial for an older person. Pets are welcome to visit our care home, and we do everything we can to support residents so they can continue to enjoy the company of their furry friends.

Hairdressing

Getting your hair done is one of life’s little luxuries. We provide a range of styling options at our on-site salon run by qualified hairdressers, so both male and female residents can enjoy a special treat.
