Residents, families, staff, and the local community came together on 18 August for a heartwarming event known as “Communitea” at Mulberry Court. The aim was simple yet profound: to foster meaningful connections, enhance well-being, and strengthen the bonds between our residents and the community they’re a part of.

The event featured a delightful spread of tea, coffee and morning pastries, providing the perfect setting for relaxed conversations and connections. As Francis, one of our residents, joyfully expressed, “It’s really nice to be able to open up our doors and invite the community in; it means we’re able to get to know our community and meet new people.”

Her sentiment beautifully encapsulates the spirit of the event – an open invitation to bridge the gap between our residents and the vibrant local community.

Kayleigh Jones, our dedicated Lifestyle and Wellbeing Lead, emphasised the importance of hosting such events. She said: “Socialising has many great benefits, including improving mental health, cognition and mood. It was lovely to see everyone getting to know each other and the joy that it created.”

The Communitea event was more than just tea and pastries; it was a testament to the power of human connection. It’s through events like these that we create a nurturing and inclusive environment where our residents can thrive, where the community becomes an extended family, and where well-being is at the forefront of everything we do.

We look forward to many more occasions to strengthen these bonds and continue to enhance the lives of our residents.
