Joyce Healey’s wish came true when Activity Organiser Samantha Anns sent an application in to the ‘Wishes and Dreams’ initiative at The Fremantle Trust. The application for a harpist to play for Joyce at her recent birthday celebration was successful and funded. The surprise celebration event attended by Birthday Girl, Joyce with her family, including 2 grand-daughters and 2 great grand-daughters, friends, fellow residents, and staff at The Heights in High Wycombe

Joyce, originally from Loudwater came to live at The Heights at the end of May 2022, has enthralled everyone with her recollections, including memories of our late Queen’s visits to the High Wycombe area during her 70 year reign.

Joyce and guests enjoyed refreshments, bubbly and a piece of birthday cake all prepared by the Home’s Chef, Floyd, with ingredients to suit all tastes and a pinch of love and dedication.

Having a harpist to entertain everyone was a dream come true for Joyce who’s late mother, Daisy, also played the harp which bought back so many happy memories and was quoted as saying “It was a lovely party, everyone was so happy, I’ve never enjoyed anything so much.  The harpist was just wonderful”.

Activity Organiser, Samantha Anns said: “It meant so much to Joyce to have her family and friends there to share her milestone birthday, being able to arrange for a harpist to play was the icing on the cake for her and something Joyce will always remember”.
