Senior staff at Fremantle show their artistic flair!

Is providing excellent care and support a science or an art?
On 15/16th November senior staff from our older people services were asked this question when invited to Woodley House to look at the psychology behind providing high quality care.
Staff were asked to create pictures within their groups (six per group) that reflected emotions such as empathy, compassion, loss, caring and kindness – feelings that are naturally encountered on a daily basis by the individuals staff work with.
The outcome was fantastic and it solidified the fact  providing high quality care is most definitely an art! It was established that the science is in the procedures and paperwork but the care and empathy needed to work in this environment definitely comes from within.

Teams had to come together to create something brilliant which also highlighted the importance of working together as a group.
Overall the senior staff workshop was a complete success and really gave the people taking part some food for thought as well as the knowledge that their creativity was more valuable than they thought it would be!
