Johan started his accounting career in 1980 in Cape Town, South Africa, as a trainee accountant with Barlows Ltd (Caterpillar Earthmoving Equipment). In 1990 he joined a medium sized Precision Engineering and Manufacturing Company, Schuurman Engineering Pty Ltd as accountant and was appointed Group Financial Director in 1997. Johan and his family emigrated to the United Kingdom in August 2002. He joined The Fremantle Trust in October 2002 as Finance Manager and was appointed Financial Controller in July 2005.
