At The Fremantle Trust we value what our residents and employees think about what it takes to work in adult social care, what it takes to work in support of people who live in our Care or Nursing Homes.

We have strong links with Bucks College Group, working together to bring a wider understanding of the social care sector for students and supporting them in their preparation for the world of work. As part of our working together, three students studying creative media at the Amersham Campus, took on the challenge to capture on film exactly what some of our colleagues and residents thought.

On the day of the filming, four members of the Fremantle staff were interviewed by one of the students about why they chose to work at the Trust and what they feel about working in social care. The filming also involved four of the Nursing Home residents who enjoyed a morning of watching and taking part in the filming.

Resident Margaret said ‘we’ve loved getting involved, it was great to meet the students and to see what they were getting up to!’

It was a fantastic day had by all, a day that will live in our hearts for a long time.

Employee Partner of the Year Award

On 29 June, 2023, over 100 attendees gathered at Missenden Abbey to experience Buckinghamshire College Group’s Student Awards ceremony, where The Fremantle Trust took home Employer Partner of the Year. The award highlighted the positive impact strong partnerships between educational institutions and employers have on shaping the futures of young talents.

Lucy Milton, Head of Business Development and Sales at Bucks College Group, nominated us for our exceptional commitment to fostering partnerships in health and social care. Our collaboration resulted in their students securing many roles, making us a valued and dedicated partner in preparing students for future careers.

Sue Ascott, who collected the award on behalf of The Fremantle Trust, shared, “This is something that we are passionate about at The Fremantle Trust, and we see clear benefits in playing our part in preparing your students for their journey into the world of work.”
